The drink was swapped. With another poison in its place, it will cause many a heart to break and many lives to be lost.
The prince was almost inconsolable. His heart in pieces while thinking he has next to nobody left in this world. He had his mother and his uncle and in time even that wouldn't be enough. The prince drank his tea under the impression his uncle gave it to him to help ease his pain even for just a little while. It seemed to work well he thought while falling into his pillow and a deep sleep.
The king watched this expecting tomorrow to be another mournful day for the kingdom, but as fate would have it the prince will wake up at dawn with a whole new cross to bare.
The next morning the king arose from his slumber to to check on his nephew only to discover he was not in his room. Where could he be the king kept thinking. He was not even supposed to gone let alone alive. The kings mind wondering all over the place, afraid of the possible outcomes to this horrible situation. This was not going as planned at all. The plan was so simple how could he screw it up this badly. First get rid of his brother, second get rid of his nephew. He was given the right tools, it should have been easy. Where the hell could he be? the king kept asking himself.
He heard many a strange thing on his search for his nephew. Rumors he kept telling himself, they had to be stupid and outrages rumors. His anger and outrage building as he hurries to find the prince. Blood boiling with every word he catches while passing by the whispering and gossiping subjects of his own kingdom. The kingdom he did so much to obtain and will do anything to keep.
Judging by what he has caught so far he knew where to find the prince. He ran to the stables only to find his nephew blood soaked and naked next to a dead horse. What went wrong? How did the prince end up like this? Did that horrible man trick the him? is what the king thought. More worries just piled up on him. He was supposed to be dead, the prince was supposed to be dead.
The king lifted the groggy prince and asked two passing by guards to help get the prince home but to do so discreetly. He couldn't allow anymore damaging rumors. The prince slept for what seemed like days after that incident. Finally it was time to get that horrible man to come talk to him. He had to find a way to have Rumpelstiltskin come to him, after all how does one go to Rumpelstiltskin?
She watched all this happen from a distance knowing very well that chaos would ensue over these next few years. She had dealt the first blow, placed her first pawn on a chess board played between 3 players even though that's not possible. Yet that's how it is being played. Victory will surely be hers in the end.
